Automotive gas analysers are designed to detect and measure the gas content of automotive exhaust emissions. These analysers typically measure CO, CO2, O2, NO and HC (or some combination of these gasses) and are commonly used for ensuring compliance with emissions regulations or identifying inefficient combustion performance.
Within the UK, MOT testing requires exhaust gas analysis, making MOT compliance testing one of the most common applications for automotive gas analysers. However, these instruments have a wide range of other applications in testing and maintaining engines, exhaust systems and catalytic converters including verifying repairs, performing tune-ups and diagnostics.
